Phragmites is a European reed that propagates in wetlands. While phragmites impose monocultures they also serve as a carbon sink, absorb emissions, cleanse waterways, and enhance storm resilience. I harvest the plant to help the vitality of wetlands and use it as a sustainable sculpture material.
